Sharon Ann Puhl

June 17, 1946 — October 4, 2017

Sharon A. (Guhl) Puhl age 71 departed this world unexpectantly on October 4, 2017 at home. Sharon was born on June 17, 1946 in Toledo to Frederick E. and Genevieve M. (Simon) Guhl. Sharon attended St. Josephs Elementary School in Maumee and then graduated from the former McAuley High School in 1964. On April 22, 1967 she married Thomas Puhl, then built their family home in Springfield Township in 1971. Their marriage brought 2 children, Kerry Anne and Thomas J. Puhl II. When it was time for them to begin school she worked part-time in various positions allowing her to attend and participate in her childrens activities. In 1990 and 1992 she was blessed with 2 grandsons John Thomas and Alexander Joseph Zappone. Sharon chose to work at various Springfield schools her grandsons attended in order to enjoy their daily activities and to have lunch with them. Her family was always her first priority. She retired in 2012 from Springfield Schools after 27 years of service. After retirement she reconnected with several of her high school friends and old neighbors to enjoy dinners and shows. She would enjoy the frequent company of her sisters and sisters-in-law for afternoon lunch all enjoying her contagious smile. Along with her children and grandsons she is survived by sisters Pat Shirtz and Nancy Guhl; in-laws Carrie Reimer and Pat (Nelson) Pfleghaar; many nieces and nephews; God-daughter DeAnna Long; and canine companion Daisey Mae. She was preceded in death by her husband Tom; parents; and brother Robert. Friends may be received at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St. Maumee on Tuesday from 2-8 PM where a Scripture Service will be held at 7 PM. Funeral services will begin Wednesday at 10 AM in the funeral home followed by the funeral mass at 10:30 AM in St. Rose Church, Perrysburg. Interment will follow in St. Rose Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association or the American Lung Association. Condolences may be shared with the family at walkerfuneralhomes.com. Our mom, grandma, sister and dear friend touched so many lives. She will be missed by many. Fly high, sweet angel.
