Sharon Ann O'Neal

Sharon Ann O'Neal, a woman defined by her sharp mind, sense of humor, and her quiet appreciation for history and beauty, passed away on April 15, 2026, at the age of 82.

Born on March 22, 1944, to S. Robert and Miriam (Weis) Leisk, Sharon was a lifelong learner. After graduating from Bedford High School, she attended the University of Toledo. Her professional life was anchored in precision; she began her career as a bookkeeper for her father's firm and continued to lend her expertise as a bookkeeper and office professional for various local businesses over the years.

Sharon's curiosity about the world often took her far beyond the office. She was an avid traveler who felt most at home exploring the streets of Europe or enjoying the pace of a long cruise. A true history enthusiast, she was known for her trips to museums, where she could be found happily lost in her headphones, absorbing every detail of an exhibit at her own speed. At home, this passion translated into a love for historical fiction and a meticulously tended garden.

Giving back was important to Sharon, and she spent many years dedicated to the Mercy Hospital Guild, where she volunteered her time in service to others.

Above all her interests, Sharon's greatest joy was her family. She was a proud and devoted grandmother who cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren.

Sharon was preceded in death by Ronald O'Neal, husband of 50 years; parents, S. Robert and Miriam Leisk; and sister, Patti Bolin. Sharon is survived by her son, Robert O'Neal (Jill), daughter, Melissa Scuterud (John), grandchildren, Katherine, Bridget, Jack, and Sophie, sisters, Barbara White and Claudia Elchert; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to visit at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave, Toledo, on Friday, April 24, 2026, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., where a memorial service will begin at 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
