Sharon B. Dickerson, age 77, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away suddenly on Friday (November 29, 2024). She was born on April 21, 1947, in Toledo, Ohio, to Richard F. Dickerson and Thelma M. Snyder.
Surviving Sharon is her son Derek Dickerson. She was preceded in death by her father Richard F. Dickerson and her mother Thelma M. Snyder.
Sharon was first and foremost a mother. She never hesitated to do what needed to be done to provide her son with a great life while being a single mother. Sharon was a secretary for Owens-Illinois, Owens-Brockway, and the University of Toledo College of Law before retiring from the University while working in the Financial Aid department. While at the University she was a proud CWA member. Sharon donated her time by helping the Democratic Party, the Toledo Newsboys, and other organizations. Sharon was an avid reader, enjoyed watching PBS, the afternoon “Judge” programs, and British television shows. But her passion was music, whether it be going out to sing karaoke or listening to live music at one of the local venues.
Friends and family are invited to visit at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave, Toledo, on Friday, December 6, 2024, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. A memorial service will take place at the funeral home at 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sharon’s Family or to the Toledo Newsboys.
