Sharon Marie (Strayer) Davenport, 82 of Whitehouse, passed away Friday, December 22, 2023, at Hospice of Northwest, Ohio following a long struggle with Parkinson's disease, which she remained positive throughout. She was born July 31, 1941 to Gerald Strayer and Dolores (Smith) Williams in Toledo. Sharon graduated from Maumee High School in 1959. On July 11, 1959 she married Norman Davenport.
In addition to her time as an accountant and tax preparer, Sharon was also a cake decorator for weddings and other special events. She was an avid quilter and sewer. She loved playing poker and euchre as well as line dancing. Family and friend gatherings were always her favorite. Sharon’s wild and free spirit will be missed by all who were able to know her.
Sharon is survived by her husband Norman Davenport; children Kenneth and Tracey Davenport; grandchildren Nathan Davenport and Kyle (Leah) Davenport, Ellen (Josh) Golden, Cheryl (Mason) Knipp, Ryan, Sarah and Eric Schwarz, and Brandon Harper; as well as 16 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her daughter Teresa Davenport; sister Carol Strickland; and both parents.
Family and friends will be received Friday, December 29, 2023, at Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home (501 Conant St. Maumee) from 4-8 P.M. with a scripture service being held at 7:30 P.M. Contributions in Sharon’s memory can be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation of Northwest Ohio (150 W. S. Boundary #202, Perrysburg).
