Sharon R. Buermele, 81, of Toledo, OH, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2024 with her family by her side. Sharon was a lifelong Toledo resident, born on September 30, 1942, to parents Wilfred and Rose (Clinker) Hill.
In 1960, Sharon graduated from Libbey High School and went on to have a remarkable career. She worked for Dun & Bradstreet for 40 years, winning numerous awards. Never one to sit still, following her retirement Sharon began a 15-year career working in the University of Toledo’s Admissions Department.
On September 11, 1965, Sharon married the love of her life, Ronald Buermele. They shared 58 years together until her passing, raising two children, Chad and Brittany. Sharon loved to travel and would take annual trips both with her entire family, and just with Ron. Together they witnessed much of the world’s beauty, traveling all over the United States and had a once in a lifetime European adventure. She especially enjoyed escaping winter to Bonita Springs, FL and Kiawah Island, SC. Closer to home, Sharon loved gardening and making her own corner of the earth beautiful. She was also an avid reader and an exceptional cook, often trying new dishes. Her carrot cake and guacamole always drew accolades. She relished spending time with her granddaughter and would be down on the floor playing right along. For years she loved getting together with her Circle of Friends, playing Canasta and cards, her competitive streak well known.
Sharon had a huge heart and loved her friends and family dearly. She was humorous, warm and kind and will be incredibly missed by all who knew her. Sharon is presided in death by her mother and father and her brother Robert Hill.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Ron; her son, Chad; her daughter, Brittany (Jessica); her granddaughter, Poppy; her dear sister-in-law, Linda Buermele who was a true sister and confidant; and her schnauzer, Bella who she loved to walk all over the park and neighborhood.
