Sean Charles Benes

Sean Charles Benes, 33, of Fremont, OH died tragically Wednesday, January 18, 2023 as the result of an automobile accident on his way to work. He was born on March 6, 1989 in Fremont, OH to Charles Alan and Barbara (Rybacki) Benes. Sean graduated from Oak Harbor High School in 2007. He served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps for 4 years while stationed at Camp Pendleton in San Diego, CA. Sean was currently working as a steamfitter/pipefitter for U.A. Local 50 in Toledo, OH for the last 10 years.

Sean had a passion for music, motorcycles, snowmobiles, and motocross. He was a Cleveland sports fan fanatic and a Browns season ticket holder. Sean enjoyed going to Browns and Toledo Walleye games with his son, Blake. He was an avid bowler and golfer. Sean will always be known for trying to make everybody laugh, especially with his “dad jokes”. He was a pet lover, enjoyed cooking, and tried to live life to the fullest, while being the life of the party. Sean wasn’t great at returning phones calls or clearing his voicemails, but he always enjoyed talking to people when they could get ahold of him. Sean will always be remembered for having a great sense of humor, and a big smile that showed his dimples.

Sean is survived by his son, Blake Benes, stepdaughter, Brianna “Nash” Fuller, parents, Chuck & Barbara Benes, brother, Brad (Patti) Benes, nephews, Bryson & Cameron Benes, former wife, Jamie Benes, and his beloved dogs, Danny & Mylee, and cat, Chuckie.

Visitation for Sean will be 3-7 p.m., Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 165 E. Water St., Oak Harbor, OH, where funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 26, 2023 by Pastor Rick DuShane. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Sean may be given to a trust fund being established to benefit his son Blake with checks being made out to Brad Benes, Trustee or any Veteran’s organization that benefits Veterans.
