Scott Joseph Shealy, 60, of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed away on April, 1st, 2023, after a hard-fought battle with leukemia.
Scott was born on July 5th, 1962, to Fred and Sharon Shealy in Toledo, Ohio. He is the third of five children. After Scott graduated from Central Catholic in 1980, he went to study finance at the University of Toledo.
Upon graduation, he used his magnetic personality for a successful career in sales before starting his own company, Rewardlogix.
In 1988, he met Julie at Trustcorp Bank through mutual friends and got married after 6 months of dating. Scott and Julie went on to have four children: Nicholas, Mark, Eric, and Brooke. They built a life full of love and laughter in Barrington, IL.
In 2018 Scott and his family returned home to work at H Hansen Industries, where he loved every minute of it. He would share work stories and photos to anyone who would listen.
Scott knew Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He loved studying Scripture and sharing the Gospel. He knew he could not earn eternity into Heaven on his own merits and was grateful there was a path to salvation through grace. His faith was evident in everything he did.
Every spare moment of his life was spent investing in others, most notably his family. Roller hockey, pool basketball, and coaching was where you would find Scott. Neighbor Marie called Scott the Pied Piper, because all the neighborhood kids would pour out of their houses as he organized the recreation. His favorite week of the year was a trip to the cottage where he would spend time swimming, shooting, and ATVing with his family. His only personal hobby was lifting, but even that was to keep an athletic edge on his kids.
Scott was a foodie in a long line of foodies- always quick to give a restaurant recommendation and add a sauce. He loved the home cooked meals of Julie, and his friend Gus, who would serve him a Lebanese meal including lemon chicken right off the grill, pita, Fattoush, hummus, and Aida’s amazing rice.
Scott was preceded in death by his father, Fred J. Shealy. He is survived by his wife, Julie Shealy; mother, Sharon Shealy; in-laws, Antonio LaMantia and Bonnie LaMantia; siblings, Todd Shealy, Chris Shealy, Ann (Scott) Turner, Jennifer (Dan) Pierce; children, Nick (Mallory) Shealy, Mark (Mackenzie) Shealy, Eric (Alexis Miller) Shealy, and Brooke Shealy.
