Sandra Jean Wozniak, 71, of Williston, Ohio, died early Saturday, September 6, 2014, at Luther Home of Mercy, where she had been a resident since December 14, 1984. Sandy was born in Toledo, Ohio on September 1, 1943 to Harry J. and Marcella E. (Dietrick) Wozniak. Sandy had worked at Riverview Industries in Oak Harbor for several years and most recently at Genesis in Northwood and Emmaus in Oregon. She was very precise with any job she was assigned. During her years at Luther Home of Mercy, Sandy participated in the Special Olympics. She loved to bowl and she loved animals and looked forward to going to Vail Meadows in Oregon to be with the horses. Sandy enjoyed her life at Luther Home of Mercy and was always happy to be around others and share in their lives. Before moving to Luther Home of Mercy, Sandy was a member of St. Hyacinth Catholic Church in Toledo. Survivors of Sandy include her sister, Sharon (Tom) Kwiatkowski of Maumee, brother, Gary (Sheryl) Wozniak of Minneapolis, MN, 12 nieces & nephews, 14 great nieces & nephews and two great-great nephews. Sandy was preceded in death by her parents and her infant sister Susan Marie Wozniak. A funeral service for Sandy will be conducted at 10 AM, Wednesday, September 10, 2014 in the Chapel at Luther Home of Mercy, 5810 N. Main St., Williston, OH 43468. Visitation will be in the Chapel from 8:30 AM until the time of service at 10 AM. Interment will immediately follow in Resurrection Cemetery, 5725 Hill Ave at the corner of Holland-Sylvania, Toledo, OH 43615. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Luther Home of Mercy, PO Box 187, Williston, OH 43468 in Sandy’s name. The Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory in Genoa, OH is assisting the family with arrangements. Sandys family would like to extend a very special thank you to Michele Tomor, the doctors, nurses, and staff of Luther Home of Mercy and Mercy-St. Charles Hospital for their exceptional care and compassion shown to Sandy throughout her life and illness; your love for Sandy will not be forgotten.
