Sandra A. Stricker

Sandra A. (Schwind) Stricker age 72, of Toledo, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 18, 2021, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio surrounded by her loving family. Sandy was born in Toledo, Ohio on July 10, 1948 to Eugene “Buttsie” and Donna (Spoerl) Schwind. Sandy was valedictorian at McCauley High School class of 1966 and went on to study psychology at the University of Detroit. Sandy was employed at State Farm for her uncle John “Bud” Spoerl and cousin Dave Walbom, retiring in 2017 after 31 years. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, volunteering for multiple agencies, her church community and walks with her family and friends. Her faith and love of God was extremely important. Sandy’s great love and accomplishment was being “Mimi” to her 19 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. You could always find her at a grandchild’s game, musical or concert. She looked forward to the annual family vacation every year as family was of the utmost importance. She is survived by her children, April Stricker, Douglas Stricker Jr., Jill (Mike) Bolton, Brad Stricker, Leigh (Philip Brown) Stricker, Jay (Amanda) Stricker and Kent (Katie) Stricker; grandchildren, Luke, Leah, Jake, Sydney, Lauren, Kara, Jackson, Parker, Colin, Madison, Reese, Henry, Brianna, Greyson, Jude, Eli and Lennox; 2 great-grandchildren, Mason and Ada; siblings, Steve (Jan), Mark (Denise), Scott (Karen), Matt (Brenda) and Pat (Elizabeth). Also surviving are 14 nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by grandchildren, Carson and Pierson Stricker. A Memorial Mass celebrating Sandy’s life will be held at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church 5856 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 10:00 AM.
