Sandra G. Smith

Sandra (Emerick) Smith, formerly of Monroe, MI, passed away after a brief and unexpected illness on December 2, 2018 with her loving family at her side. Sandi was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Beulah Emerick. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, David A. Smith; daughter, Lisa and son-in-law, Lawrence Darrington; grandson, Nick Gordon and his wife Gabriella; brother, Lynn (Theresa) Emerick; sisters, Jill Leader and Jan (Paul) Vogt; and many nieces and nephews. Sandi graduated from Monroe High School in 1960. She had a love for learning which motivated her as an adult to obtain both a Bachelor and Masters degree in business administration. Sandi’s loves also included traveling, reading, tending her beautiful flower gardens, and the companionship of the numerous cats she adopted over the years. A private memorial service will be planned by the family at a later date.
