Sandra Sue Rodgers

“Sue” Sandra L. (Downs) Rodgers, 79, of Maumee, OH, (recently The Waterford at Levis Commons) passed away on Friday, November 23, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, Ohio. Sue was born on June 27, 1939, in Maumee, Ohio, to Donald and Marian (Wootton) Downs. She was a 1958 graduate of Maumee High School. Sue married Bob Rodgers on August 27, 1960. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Sue was a past Worthy Matron of Maumee Chapter, Order of Eastern Stars. Sue and Bob enjoyed traveling throughout the country. Their many trips out west were some of her favorites especially Jackson Hole, WY. “God’s country” as she often said. Sue enjoyed family gatherings, home projects, preparing holiday dinners (always served at 1:00), and attending her grandchildren’s sporting and school events. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Rodgers; sons Richard and James Rodgers; sister Jacqueline Kopp; and brothers Richard and Donald Downs. Sue is survived by her daughter Kimberly (Steve) Wesolowski, daughters-in-law Patricia and Nancy Rodgers; grandchildren Peter Wesolowski, Patrick (Katie) Wesolowski, Erin (Brad) Weiker, Jennifer (Chris) Keiger, Matthew Rodgers, Brandi Rodgers and Anthony Rodgers; 5 great-grandchildren; brother Neil (Shirley) Downs and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the caring staff of Hospice and The Waterford at Levis Commons. Memorial contributions can be made in her to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, Ohio. Visitation will be held from 4-8pm on Monday, November 26, 2018 at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, Ohio. Funeral services will be at 10 am on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at the Maumee United Methodist Church, 405 Sackett Street, Maumee, Ohio. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
