Sandy Hupp

Sandy Hupp died peacefully on August 9, 2026, surrounded by her family after a 4-year battle with metastatic breast cancer. She was 58yrs old. Sandy was born in Napoleon, Ohio where she grew up heavily involved in the local 4H program and was an avid swimmer. After graduating from Napoleon High School, she went on to further her academic career at the Antonelli School of Fine Arts in Cincinnati, Ohio where she earned a degree in graphic design and photography.

Sandy also had a passion for interior design and spent many years working with clients at Samsen Furniture in Genoa, Ohio. Outside her professional career, Sandy put her artistic talents to good use volunteering countless hours for the Ottawa Hills local school district. If you saw Sandy in the school, chances are she had paint on her jeans, a brush in her hand and a smile on her face. While she willingly chaired school and community fundraisers when asked, Sandy was truly in her element when she was rolling up her sleeves and working behind the scenes to bring a creative project to life.

When Sandy wasn't volunteering, she loved painting, gardening, cooking for her family, birding, hiking with her dogs and everything nature related. Sandy is survived by her mother Trudy Hogrefe, her husband Corey Hupp, her daughter Jillian Hupp, her stepdaughter Miranda Hupp, her stepson Noah Hupp, her sisters Marian (Kim) Moore & Janice Hogrefe (Jim Roeger), her brother Ted Hogrefe, her nieces Susan Moore, Laurie (Jeff) Kirkendall, Julie Moore and her nephew Cole Hogrefe along with several grand nieces and nephews. Sandy was preceded in death by her father, Bob Hogrefe.

A celebration of life will take place at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W Sylvania Ave, Toledo, OH, on Saturday, August 22, 2026. Friends and family are invited to visit from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., with a memorial service beginning at 5 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Metroparks Toledo Foundation in Sandy's honor.
