Sandra "Sandy" Guerrero

Sandra “Sandy” L. Guerrero, age 73, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away at The Toledo Hospital, on Monday, November 14, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Sandy was employed with The Toledo Hospital as an admissions clerk until her retirement on April 29, 2004. Sandy was a longtime member of the Sylvania Moose Lodge #1579, where she was a Lady of the Moose and made many friends. Sandy was a go-getter and always had a positive way of thinking. Being the life of the party came easy to her. She had a contagious laugh and a sense for fun and adventure. Most recently, Sandy was able to cross off a major destination from her bucket list-Jamaica. She cherished every moment and memory she made with her family there. Enjoying the sun, scenery, and culture was all she could have ever dreamed of. She considered herself a blessed woman to have such a large and loving family. Sandy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Sandra L. Guerrero was born on February 6, 1949, in Toledo, the daughter of Forrest Horace and Tressa Iola (Griggs) Nearhood.

Left to cherish Sandy’s memory include her children, Rhonda (David) Miller, Angel (Ken) Currier, and Jasen Guerrero (Laura); special friend, Tom Shinaver; grandchildren, Tiffany, Deanna, Brittany, Erika, Zachariah, Isaiah, Donnie, Maria, Desiree, Kendra, Isabel, Donovan, and Aiden; great-grandchildren, Ariah, Tiffin, Easton, Aslan, Analee, Mackenzie; Evren, Caroline, Ezel, Emmett, Emerson, Atlas, C.J., Tomlyn, and Leighton; siblings, Tressa Nearhood, and Raymond (Ernestine) Nearhood; many loved nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Forrest and Tressa, and one great-grandson, Talan.

Special thanks to Sandy’s best friend, Tammy Kuron, for her friendship and care throughout Sandy’s illness.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 21, 2022, from 2:00-8:00pm at Walker Funeral Home, Sylvania Avenue. A mass will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at Christ the King Catholic Church.
