Sandra M. Glovier of Sylvania, Ohio passed away peacefully on August 29, 2018. She was born to Carl and Mary (Twohey) Montero on January 28, 1937 in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. She was preceded in death by her first and only love, Robert I. Glovier Sr., to whom she was married for 57 years. Sandy was a graduate from Johnson and Wales in Court Stenography, and also was a Social Worker in Rhode Island and had many jobs after. She and Bob moved a lot and Sandy said, “I always got myself a little job so I could get out and meet people, it’s the best way to make friends”, and many friends she made. She finished her 16 year career as a Unit Manager at the Seneca County Opportunity Center Work Shop in Tiffin, Ohio. She loved reading, political discourse, and was an avid conversationalist who found joy in seeing others smile. Nobody passed her by without hearing a “hello,” and if they were fortunate to enough to reply, a lengthy conversation would ensue. She always said, “If I’m awake, I’m talking!” Most of all, Sandy loved spending time with family and friends, sharing stories, and laughing. Even through tears she found a way to smile and laugh, and that’s the way she left us; surrounded by family telling her stories, a few tears, and much laughter. She leaves behind three sons, Robert Jr. (Wyatt), Carl, Daniel (Sandy); grandchildren, Kristi (Drew) Grogan, Casandra, Monica and Nicholas; great-grandchild, Amelia Grogan; sisters-in-law, Paula Paxton and Peggy Ludwico. Sandy wanted to express a special thank you to Dr. Garth Phibbs, his nurses and staff, as well the wonderful nurses and staff in the Outpatient Infusion Clinic at Toledo Hospital. The “Two Sandy’s” loved them all for the compassion and care they gave to her the last five years. In lieu of flowers we ask that you make a donation to Hospice of NWO. They cared for Sandy with loving care, dignity, and respect. For that her family is eternally grateful. A gathering of Family and Friends will be received at St. Patricks of Heatherdowns, 4201 Heatherdowns Blvd, Toledo, OH on Saturday, September 8, 2018 from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the Mass at 11 A.M.
