Sandra L. Erwin

May 30, 1957 — September 17, 2024

On Tuesday September 17th 2024, Sandy L. Erwin (Romic) passed away with her family at her side at the age of 67. She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Sandy was born to Sandra & Richard Romic on May 30th, 1957, in Chicago Il and was also raised by her loving stepfather William Lacy. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Bart, of 47 years of marriage. Sandy and Bart had three children, Jessica (Marcos), Michael (Charlie), and John (Megan). She will also be remembered by her six grandchildren, Dean, David, Dylan, Louise, Duncan, and Jason, by her sisters Suzanne, Shelley (Tom), and Stephanie (Paula), and by her nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Sandy did everything with passion and love. Many of Sandy’s accomplishments include being an award-winning quilter, sewer, master gardener, beekeeper, top notch cook, world traveler with her family, fly fisher, business owner, entrepreneur, volleyball & basketball player, and girl scout leader. This list could go on and on as she could accomplish anything she put her mind to.

Sandy was also incredibly family oriented. She spoke to all her children and grandchildren every single day. Sandy also held very dear to family traditions and has passed many of them down to her family. These traditions include yearly canning of different types of fruit jams, picking out the annual Erwin Christmas tree, card games, and celebrating all of life’s accomplishments and milestones. Sandy was the most incredible and loving mummum to her grandchildren. She also loved her dogs over the years including Joker, Ginger, Monroe, Gusgus, and her grand puppies.

Sandy was also an amazing entrepreneur and businesswoman, owning several businesses to include her quilting business Keep’em In Stitches, was the previous owner of Dairy at the Dock ice cream shop, and ran Our Sunset Place a local bed and breakfast with her husband Bart. In addition to her businesses, Sandy sat on the CI zoning board committee, formed part of the Ohio Star Quilters Guild, was a group member of “Quilters Gone Bad” , and was very active in her local community.
