Sandra Ann Crowley “Sandee”, of West Toledo, passed away February 19, 2021. Having battled many years the effects of COPD, she is now breathing freely and without effort. Sandee was born in Clearfield, Pennsylvania and was the daughter of Mildred and Harry Kline. Graduating from Clearfield High School in 1966, she attended Tri-County School of Beauty Culture, obtaining her beauticians license in 1967, and shortly after, worked as a beautician at Flo’s Beauty Salon and a wig dresser for Brody’s. She was later trained and worked as a respiratory therapist at Clearfield Hospital for several years. Sandee married young and had 2 children. Wanting better opportunities for her children and herself, she took a calculated risk leaving everything and everyone she knew and settled in Swanton, Ohio with the help of a friend to begin a “new life” in 1979. As a young and determined mother, she often worked 2 or 3 jobs in differing shifts to support herself and her family, as she was not one to look for a hand-out. Being very well organized with a great business sense and needing stability, she would finally find herself landing in the field of bookkeeping, accounting and office management working first at Nomar Industries and lastly at Pownell Machine Services retiring in 2001. It was at Nomar where she met the love of her life, best friend, and husband of 35 years, Patrick R. Crowley. Sandee’s interests and passions were diverse, but greatly identified who she was. A true animal lover, Sandee had many pets throughout her life and even had the good fortune to own horses as a younger woman and mother, which she loved and reflected upon in abundance, but her last furry companion, Molly, touched her soul in a unique way. We are certain that Molly was the first to greet her when she left us. She loved to garden and had an immaculate collection of flora that she would eagerly anticipate returning every spring, summer, and fall. As her health declined, it was most difficult that she was not able to enjoy the work of her gardens. She had a great love and appreciation for music of all tastes – something she and Pat enjoyed immensely together! And they regularly attended Toledo Mud Hens games – baseball being one sport she enjoyed thoroughly. Sandee had a great affinity for the downtrodden in life and always gave whatever she had to help – sometimes to her own detriment. What will be missed most from this beautiful woman is her gift of “gab”. Sandee could talk to anyone, about anything, for great lengths of time, and made so many great friends throughout her life. One of her favorite activities was “people watching” wherever she would find herself. Be it a concert, the county fair, a Toledo Ballet performance, an Irish Dance performance, or a Mud Hens game, she loved to watch people! It was most certainly this pastime that would give her the perspective and intuitiveness to relate on a personal level with everyone she would meet. Sandee was very proud of her children and grandchildren and those who knew her, most likely knew them just as well, as we’re certain they were a common topic of conversation. Sandee is survived by her most devoted and loving husband of 35 years, Patrick; daughter, Sansa Warrick; son, Shawn (Lisa) Brocious; Sister-in-laws, Kathie Crowley and Katie (Mark) Hightower; grandchildren, Ariel (Chris) Clouse, Hannah (Eric) Gauer, Levia (Caleb) Whittum, Semira (Zac) Greenwood, Talya (John) Warrick, Zoey Brocious; 7 great-grandchildren; hometown friends, Joyce Baker, Phyllis Waslo, Linda Adams; “the Gang”, Walt and Marge, Jake and Chad, Robert, and Mark; special friends, Chuck Wood, Paula Dupuy, Ron and Bev, Barb and Doug, Bruce and Kathy, and Bob Williams; and most special friend, Aunt Kathie. Sandee was preceded in death by son-in law, Michael B. Warrick; cousin, Pat Charles; father-in-law, Joseph A. Crowley. Due to COVID, a celebration of Sandee’s life will take place at a later time to be determined. We ask that those wishing to honor Sandee consider making a donation in her name to Cherry Street Mission or the Salvation Army.
