Samuel Sam D. Moyer, 74, of Elmore, Ohio, died Saturday afternoon, March 5, 2016, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. Sam was born March 22, 1941, in Gibsonburg, Ohio, to Feryl and Hilda (Arnold) Moyer. On November 2, 1963, in Elmore, Ohio, he married Bonnie J. Kruse and she survives. Sam worked at Chemi-Trol Chemical in Fremont, Ohio, from 1965-2003. He was a member of Bethel United Brethren Church in Elmore. Sam could be seen riding in his golf cart around Elmore, and he loved driving his 1966 Ford Galaxie XL Convertible and going every year to the National Tractor Pull in Bowling Green, Ohio. He was also a fan of Sprint car racing at Fremont Raceway. But Sams greatest enjoyment was his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Bonnie, Sam is survived by his son, Douglass (Alicia) Moyer of Oak Harbor, grandchildren, Ashlynne (Dylan) Perkins, Brett (Carly), Caileigh, Denna, Elijah, F. Zachariah, Jenavive, Kaden, Hadley, Isaac, and Braiden. He is also survived by his sisters, Beverly (Robert) Andecover and Paula Moyer both of Fremont, brother-in-law, Dennis (Kathy) Kruse and sister-in-law, Karen Kruse both of Genoa, as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. His parents and brother-in-law, Keith Kruse, preceded him in death. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m., Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, Ohio. The funeral service will be conducted 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 10, 2016, at Bethel United Brethren Church, Elmore, with burial to follow in Harris-Elmore Union Cemetery. Memorials for Sam may be given to Elmore EMS, Camp Sabroske, 4405 N. Toussaint North Rd., Oak Harbor, OH 43449; or Bethel United Brethren Church, 2920 S. St. Rt. 590, Elmore, OH 43416.
