Samuel Fuller

March 9, 1942 — January 5, 2023

Samuel Lee Fuller, age 80, passed away January 5, 2023. Born on March 9, 1942 in LaFayette, GA to John and Thelma (White) Fuller, who preceded him in death. Sam’s family moved to Toledo, OH where he grew up and graduated from Macomber High School in 1961. He was employed by the City of Toledo, Water Division for over 30 years and retired in 1998.

Sam fell in love with and married Sharon (Wagner) Fuller, who preceded him death in 2010. Together for over 47 years, their marriage was full of many blissful, loving times while raising their children and watching their family grow and expand with marriages and grandchildren before retiring to Ellenton, FL. After losing Sharon, Sam was devastated. He had lost his best friend and didn’t think he could survive without her. God blessed him yet again, when he found Barbara Drumm, with whom he fell deeply in love with and had almost six wonderful years of marriage with before her passing in 2021.

Sam’s children, who loved him dearly, include Sherry Miles, who preceded them in death in 2004, Kimberly Smith (Marty), Anthony Fuller (Esther), Misty (Mayne) Flowers, Tammy (Todd) Strain and Kelly (Mike) Rill. Along with grandchildren, Cory Miles, Kevin (Brandi) Miles, Brianna (Josh) Roberts, April (Ashley) Lewis, Jayson Lewis, Nettie (Josh) Fennewald, Jordan Flowers, Dante (Alison) Flowers, Jaremia Flowers, Matt (Candice) Strain, Jenna (Hunter) Donald, Nathan Rill, Brandon (Taylor) Rill, Samantha (James) Corbin and Austin (Emily) Rill and great grandchildren, Lexi, Jacob, Kaydence, Adam, Sara, Trinity, Zach, Bianca, Ezra, Kinsley, Nivea, KJ, Noah, Caleb, Salyciana, Anicia, Addison, Ava, Emmalyn, Colt, Maddox, Brooks, Poppy and great, great grandchild, Isaiah. He is also survived by his sisters, Louise Callaway, Shirley (Mike) Godwin, Bonnie (Roy) Stilwell and brother, Sonny Fuller. He was preceded in death by his sister Edna Tate.

Many family vacations were spent camping throughout Ohio, Michigan, Indiana and even Canada. Sam loved the outdoors and fishing, but only the Great Lakes and Inland Lakes. He loved looking at the ocean but didn’t like being out on it so refused to fish in it! Throughout the years, he often invited friends and extended family to join the Fuller family on camping trips, over to the house to play cards, holiday celebrations, and summer cookouts. Great times and memories were had by all! Many nieces and nephews loved their Uncle Sam!

Sam was also an avid bowler, acquiring numerous rings for 298, 299 and several perfect 300 games. He participated in many American Bowling Congress Championships throughout the years in many different states like, Kansas, Oklahoma, Nevada, Alabama, and Utah to name a few and loved the experience every time. He also loved being out on the golf course, especially with his brother-in-law, Mike and acquired 2 Hole-in-Ones over the years.
