Sammy E. Mckarus

Sammy Elias McKarus, age 72 passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at the Parkcliffe Residence in Toledo. Sammy was born to Nicholas and Rose McKarus in Toledo on May 15, 1939. A graduate of Scott High School and the University of Toledo, Sammy was a civil engineer for Lucas County before retiring in the late 1990s. He was a loving father and grandfather and loved spending time with his sons and grandchildren. Sammy is survived by his sons, Michael Joy and Mark McKarus; grandchildren, Sophia, Roman, Nicholas, Leah, and Gabrielle; and sisters, Ann Scsavnicki Emery and Mary Anne Maxwell Ross. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Helen Reitz and Ruth McKarus. Visitation will be held Friday April 6, 2012 today from 11:00am-12:00 noon at St. Elias Antiochian Church, 4940 Harroun Rd. Sylvania, OH where funeral services will follow at 12:00pm.
