Samih J. Awad

Samih (Sam) Joseph Awad passed away on September 18, 2026, in Fremont, Ohio. He was born on January 12, 1935 in Aker, Palestine, to Joseph and Bahiya Awad. He spent his final moments at home, just as he had wished.

Sam spent much of his life as a store and district manager. He took great pride in mentoring others and watching his team flourish. A firm believer in treating everyone with compassion and respect, he carried those values throughout his life. He also loved playing poker with his friends.

Sam was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Awad (Gill); his parents, Bahiya and Joseph Awad; his brother, Hazem Awad; and his beloved pets, Abby 1, Abby 2, and Mandy.

He is survived by his three children, Dina Awad and Kim (Rowell), Ramy Awad and Lora (Tusing), Joseph Rice and Kendall (Kershner); his four grandchildren, Darin, Lexi, Harrison, and Dalton; and his two great-grandchildren, Davina and Daliahla.

Services for Sam were held on September 19, 2026 at the Islamic Center of Greater Toledo. He was buried at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Condolences may be made online to the family at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com.
