Samantha Alyssa Maguire

Samantha Alyssa Maguire, aged 34, passed away on July 10, 2025, in Henderson, NV. She was born on February 22, 1991, to parents John Maguire and Anne Shiple.

Samantha – always described as a bright light wherever she went – was born and raised in Findlay, OH, where she discovered a passion for ice hockey at a young age. With her drive and competitive spirit, that passion led her to play collegiate ice hockey for Elmira College, where the team won the 2013 NCAA Championship – the pinnacle of her dedication to her beloved sport.

At Elmira, she studied Business Administration and Economics before earning her Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Findlay. She then moved to Las Vegas, NV to pursue a career in the food and beverage industry. At the time of her passing, Samantha served as a leader at Bardot Brasserie at the Aria — a position she deeply enjoyed.

Those who loved Samantha will remember her for her unmatched determination and commitment to excellence in all she pursued. Samantha’s favorite quote was, “life is a journey, not a guided tour,” and she embodied it — always going all in on what she loved and showing by example what it means to live life to the fullest.

An ideal week for Samantha was a trip to Charleston, SC or Catawba Island, OH — her two “homes away from home.” She had a love for golfing, indulging in a glass of wine, baking her famous cookies, and curating her perfectly coordinated home décor.

Though her friends and family will miss her dearly, her spirit will live on in their hearts and memories. She will be loved forever by her surviving family members, including her husband, Jeff; her parents, John and Anne; her brother, Jason; her sister, Hailey; and the family’s beloved cat Daisy.
