Sally L. Ferguson

Sally L. Ferguson, age 88, of Toledo, died November 16, 2024. She was born October 28, 1936, in Avilla, Indiana to the late Dale and Rosa (Miller) Gingrich. Sally graduated from Auburn High School in 1954 and shortly thereafter began learning business in bookkeeper positions at various companies. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to earning a degree in accounting from the University of Toledo as she grew as a businesswoman. Sally went on to co-own Arrow Material Handling in Toledo with her close friend, Ken Jacobs, fulfilling a longtime dream.

In her free time, she enjoyed doing genealogy, knitting, and fishing (catching and eating), especially with friends. Sally was a member of the Midwest Head Huggers that knit caps for children with cancer. She was a member and treasurer of the former Lucas County Chapter of Gold Star Wives; a member of the American Legion Auxiliary; and the VFW Auxiliary, both in Point Place. Sally will also be remembered for her feisty, strong-willed and independent nature. She loved to laugh and had a playful sense of humor. Sally had a keen way of helping others to laugh as well.

Surviving is her children, Paul Douglas “Doug” (Karen) Williams and Teri (George) Cross; grandchildren, Conor (Gwennan), Tyler (Julie), Evan, and Griffin Williams, Bridgett Mitchell and George (Angel) Cross; great grandchildren, Owain, Carys, Dewi, Augie, Jasper, Silas, Delaney, Haley, Riley, Hannah, and Hunter; and dear friends, William “Spike”, Bob, and Millie Gentner. Sally was also preceded in death by husbands, Paul Lee Williams and Wayne Ferguson and sister, Jane Russell.

Family and friends are invited to visit in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave., Toledo, on Monday, November 25, 2024, from 2:00 pm until the time of memorial services to share Sally’s story and celebrate her life at 5:00 p.m. Private interment will take place in Auburn, Indiana.
