Sally L. Emerson

Emerson Sally L. Sally L. Emerson, age 75, passed away December 31, 2007 at Harborside of Perrysburg, Ohio. Sally was born in Port Huron, MI to Edgar and Pansy Emerson. In her long and distinguished career as a licensed social worker, Sally worked for the Lucas County Welfare Department and served as the Director of Social Services at the Villa West Nursing Home and Glanzman Colonial now Concord Care Center before retiring in 2001. A member of the Order of Eastern Stars #317, Sally enjoyed bowling, knitting, traveling abroad and spending time with her many dear friends. She often spoke of her trip to the African safari with Ruth. Sally is survived by her sister, Suzanne E. Mactaggart; nephew, Douglas Mactaggart; nieces Heather Mactaggart and Mary Dr. David Boike; and many grand-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Patricia Gwinn; and longtime companion, Ruth. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 12-2:00pm at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Avenue west of Corey Road, Toledo, Ohio followed by a funeral service at 2:00pm.
