Brown Sarah Sarah Sally Squire Brown, 80, died peacefully with her husband at her side on September 29, 2009 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. She was born April, 1, 1929 in Defiance, Ohio and resided there until she attended Bowling Green State University in 1948. While at BGSU she was active in the Delta Gamma Sorority and various college choirs and made numerous life long friends. Upon graduating Magna Cum Laude in 1952 with a business degree, Sally moved to Toledo as an executive secretary for Doehler Jarvis. She married Robert Brooke Brown in 1953 and they started a family in 1955. While Sallys primary focus was raising their family she also had wide-range interests encompassing bird watching, bridge, art, travel, acting, racquet sports, swimming, singing and saving money. She was dedicated to her church, Epworth United Methodist, serving in many capacities ranging from: choir, to various committees, to teaching Sunday School. She was an aide at Southview High School, church finance secretary, served as President of Chapter AG of P.E.O., Docent at the Toledo Museum of Art, and remained involved in Delta Gamma. She enjoyed and supported her grandchildren immensely while attending numerous events, including soccer. Sally is survived by her husband, Bob; children, Sarah Jim Goldman of Cincinnati, Robert Karen Brooke Brown Jr. of Columbus, and Douglas Lisa Squire Brown of Toledo; brother, Richard Pat Squire as well as 10 beautiful grandchildren. The visitation will be held on Friday, October 2nd between the hours of 2-5 and 6:30 -8 PM at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd. Toledo, OH 43623. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 3rd at 11 AM at Epworth United Methodist Church, 3077 Valleyview Drive, Toledo, OH, 43615. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to Epworth United Methodist Church, Toledo Humane Society, 1920 Indian Wood Circle, Maumee, OH 43537 or the Toledo Lucas County Public Library Legacy Foundation, 325 Michigan St., Toledo, OH 43604.
