Rylie Harman Collins

October 24, 2003 — February 7, 2025

Rylie Harman Nicholas Collins, age 21, of Toledo, died peacefully at home on February 7, 2025, from cancer. He was born October 24, 2003, at Flower Hospital in Sylvania.

Rylie finished his junior year at Ohio State University as a BS-MS candidate in Aerospace Engineering in spring 2024 prior to his diagnosis. He was a devout member of both St. Nicholas Orthodox Church (Columbus) and St. George Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral in Toledo.

A gifted golfer and pianist, he won more than a few Toledo Junior Golf tournaments as an early teen and completed his many years of piano study under Marsha Holman with a final year under Dr. Michael Boyd. A voracious reader, Rylie's all-time favorite seminar course at OSU focused on Leo Tolstoy. Homeschooled through high school, Rylie always wore his accomplishments and learning lightly, and he will be remembered for his self-deprecating sense of humor and his unfailing kindness to all.

He is survived by his dedicated parents Christopher Collins and Dr. Patricia Relue; his loving sister McKenzie; grandparents Shirley Collins (Eugene, OR) and Ruth Relue (Defiance, OH); and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral, 3754 Woodley Rd., Toledo, OH 43606, from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. with Trisagion prayers at 7:00 p.m. The family will also receive visitors on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of funeral services at noon.
