Ryen Maureen Kanary

Ryen M. Kanary, 46, of Oak Harbor, OH passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Magruder Hospital, Port Clinton, OH. She was born on March 31, 1978 in Toledo, OH to Dennis M. and Susan Carol (Walton) Kanary. Ryen graduated summa cum laude from the University of Toledo with her bachelor’s degree in philosophy. She worked as an appliance specialist at Lowe’s in Fremont, OH for the last 12 years.

Ryen was an avid reader and enjoyed going to museums and listening to vinyl records. She was a remote-control car enthusiast, liked going to amusement parks, and traveling to visit different amusement parks. Ryen had a sweet tooth for caramel and sea salt truffles, and she enjoyed any kind of food she didn’t have to cook.

Ryen is survived by her son, Jaxon Kanary, significant other, Adam Bahnsen, step-mom, Regina Kanary, and her aunts & uncles, Lawrence (Elisa) Kanary, Diane LaFountain, Michael (Georgia) Walton, Annette (Michael) Miller, Mary Anne (Dennis) McIlroy, David (Debra) Walton, and Donna (Eric) Spychalski. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, John Paul “Jack” Kanary, II, grandparents, Don (Tina) Walton, and uncle, Douglas Walton.

Visitation for Ryen will be from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m., Friday, July 12, 2024, at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 165 E. Water St., Oak Harbor, OH, with an informal Farewell Blessing at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Ryen may be given in care of the family.
