Ryan Joseph Alfaro

Ryan Joseph Alfaro, Yeoman Third Class, age 22, passed away on April 1, 2015 in Virginia. He was born and raised in Delta, Ohio on April 9, 1992 to Manual and Annette (Szymanski) Alfaro. Ryan graduated from Central Catholic High School in 2011. He attended North Central State University in Mansfield, Ohio prior to enlisting in the Navy on May 22, 2013. Ryan was an exceptionally dedicated Sailor who clearly displayed pride in his work as a Yeoman. He reported to the USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) in March 2014 and immediately set to work learning his new field on Naval Administration. He was always polite and responsive to his customers, quickly earning him the reputation as someone you could count on to get the job done. Ryans goal was to become a professional poker player playing in Las Vegas. He was an avid fan of Olive Garden, Taco Bell, Pepsi Cola and Lays Potato Chips. Ryan took pride in his looks and always had the best hair. His willingness to help others is reflected in his decision to be an organ donor. Ryan is survived by his mother, Annette (Ernie Ruiz) Alfaro; father, Manual (Mona) Alfaro; sisters, Ursula Alfaro and Marissa (Matt Cavazos) Rodriquez; niece, Giliahna Cavazos; grandparents, Manual and Delia Alfaro; his dog, Lucky; many aunts, uncles and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Stanley and Constance Szymanski and aunts, Rachel and Gloria Alfaro. Friends and family will be received at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, Ohio, on Sunday, April 12, 2015 from 1:00-6:00 p.m. with the services to follow at 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the Wounded Warriors Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
