Ruthanne Walby Blevins

Ruthanne (Walby) Blevins, 72, of Port Clinton, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 5, 2017 at Stein Hospice Inpatient Unit, Sandusky. She was born on June 7, 1944 in Port Clinton to Leo and Margaret (Lesko) Walby. On November 9, 1963 in Danbury Township, OH she married Larry Blevins, and he survives. Ruthanne worked as a bookkeeper for the Catawba Island Club for many years. Prior to that she worked for Tadson Insurance in Port Clinton and Magruder Hospital in Port Clinton. Ruthanne was a member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Marblehead, OH. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed volunteering a lot in the local community. Ruthanne was exceptionally dedicated to her beliefs and very devoted to her family. In addition to her loving husband of 53 years, Larry, she is survived by her sons, Dan (Georganna) Blevins and Troy (Kristin) Blevins both of Columbus, OH, 5 grandkids, Kelley, Sean, Jake, Michael, and J.R., sister, Barb (Ken) Strayer and brother Mike (Karen) Walby both of Florida, and many other Blevins and Walby relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Dave Walby, mother-in-law, Sylvia Bordner, and father-in-law, Paul Bordner. Funeral services for Ruthanne will be conducted 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 216 Washington St., Port Clinton with visitation two hours prior from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Catawba Island Cemetery, Port Clinton, followed by a luncheon at St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church Parish Hall. Memorial contributions in memory of Ruthanne may be given to either the Ottawa County Humane Society or St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Marblehead, OH.
