Ruth V. Vogtsberger

Ruth V. Vogtsberger, 95, of Otterbein-Portage Valley, Pemberville, and formerly of Curtice, Ohio, passed away Friday, October 5, 2012, in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, Ohio. Ruth was born in Toledo, Ohio, on January 29, 1917, to George and Clara Stollfus Lanzinger. She graduated from DeVilbiss High School, where she was Valedictorian. On January 8, 1948, in Toledo, she married Elmer M. Vogtsberger and he preceded her in death January 26, 1998. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Williston, Ohio. Ruth was very active in church and was a member of the Rachel Circle. She was a charter member of the Chippewa Trail Garden Club because of her love of gardening. Ruth also enjoyed music, playing the piano and organ. She was fascinated with modern technology and using the computer. She loved to travel and spent over 30 winters in Florida. Another hobby of Ruths was knitting and quilting, and she enjoyed sewing clothes when her family was young. Most of all, Ruth especially loved spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her daughters, Nancy Larry Strohscher and Audrey Philip Milbrodt, grandchildren, David Strohscher, Daniel Sarah Strohscher, Christine Gerald Danhoff, Matthew Milbrodt, Jonathan Milbrodt and Sarah Milbrodt, great grandchildren, Bradley Strohscher and Jonah Danhoff. Also surviving are her sister, Doris Bahrs and brother, Donald Lanzinger. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, parents, infant son and brother, Richard Lanzinger. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m., Sunday, October 7, 2012, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, 501 West St. Genoa, Ohio. The funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 8, 2012, at St. John Lutheran Church, Williston, with interment to follow in Allen Township Cemetery, Williston.
