Ruth Tallman

Ruth Tallman, 89, of Oak Harbor died Friday, December 19, 2008 at the Riverview Healthcare Campus, Oak Harbor. She was born on December 30, 1918 in Carroll Township, OH to Clarence and Helen Blanken Apling. On October 19, 1938 in Oak Harbor she married Luther W. Tallman and he preceded her in death on February 8, 1991. Ruth worked as a homemaker. She was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor, where she was active in the Dorcas Circle. Ruth enjoyed gardening, baking, reading, crossword puzzles, and playing cards. She and her husband were also in a card club for years. Ruth is survived by her daughter: Dorothy David Waterhouse of Oak Harbor; son: Richard Joyce Tallman of Oak Harbor; 3 grandchildren: Sandy Rhodes, Sharon Rhodes, and Greg Tallman; and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister: Gladys Millinger, and grandson: Rick Waterhouse. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 22, 2008 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor with Pastor Keith Hunsinger officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, December 21, 2008 from 2-8 p.m. at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home, Oak Harbor. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor.
