Ruth Eileen Sturtz

Ruth Eileen Sturtz, 94, of Toledo, Ohio, peacefully passed from this life to the next on Saturday, August 8, 2026. She was born on October 21, 1931 to William and Eleanor (Geck) Sturtz.

After graduation from Central Catholic High School, followed by business school, Ruth began a career at Dupont in Toledo. She retired after decades of service in various positions within the company.

Aunt Ruth was a prolific painter, her art gracing the homes of many family members. She loved her flower garden, especially roses, but even more was a devoted Disney enthusiast. Through her generosity, many family trips were made to Disney World, and earlier to Disneyland, where she could share her love of all things Disney.

Having never married, the generations of nieces and nephews were all her children. We will affectionately recall Aunt Ruth's sense of humor, numerous stories and generous spirit, an example to us all.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her two sisters, Betty Ringger Tracy and Loretta Spotts, and nephews, Bill Ringger, John W. Ringger and his son, Michael A. Ringger, and niece, Beth Ringger.

Surviving Aunt Ruth are first generation nieces and nephews, and their families, Michael (Sheree) Ringger, Mark (Lori) Ringger, godchild Christine Ringger Fall, Brenda (Scott) Duquette, Donna (John) Welter, Tom (Dorene) Spotts, and John (Shawna) Ringger and family, son of predeceased John W.Ringger.

Friends may visit at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Avenue, Toledo, Ohio, on August 19th from 10:00 a.m. to noon. The funeral ceremony will be held at Walker at noon, followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery.
