Ruth Janice Strantz

Ruth Janice Jan Strantz passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg on her 84th birthday. Jan was born March 22, 1933 in Toledo to Ralph and Melda DeNune. A graduate of Whitmer High School, Jan stayed home to raise her children while they were young and later worked in the lumber industry as a secretary. She was an excellent quilt maker and enjoyed sewing and knitting. Jan loved to travel and was an avid gardener who liked digging in the dirt. She was a lifelong cat lover and adored cats of every kind. Jan is survived by her husband, Jack R. Strantz; daughter, Kelly Ann Baugh; grandchildren, Dana Heffner, Andrea Strantz, Kyle Baugh, and Gabrielle Baugh; and a great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her son, Michael J. Strantz. Visitation will be Friday, March 24, 2017 (TODAY) from 5-9:00pm at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.). Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Calvary Lutheran Church, 1930 Bradner Rd. Northwood, OH 43619. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Lutheran Church.
