RUTH E. STEYER Ruth E. Steyer, age 80, of Holland passed away on November 5, 2013 at the Spring Meadows Extended Care Facility. Mrs. Steyer was born in Republic, Ohio on August 6, 1933 to Lawrence & Dorothy (Hahl) Bogner. She married John Steyer in Tiffin on May 21, 1955 and he preceded her in death on April 21, 2001. A homemaker all her life, Ruth enjoyed gardening, singing in the Church Choir, playing bingo and knitting. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Surviving are her daughter, Debra (Richard) McLafferty; sons, Donald (Linda) Steyer; Edward (Jodi) Steyer; John (Marlene) Steyer; grandchildren, Brian & Scott McLafferty; Andrea Steyer; Jamie & Eric Steyer; Nolan, Mason & Lydia Steyer; great grandchildren, Grady, Cameron & Rory McLafferty and sister, Mary Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Gerald Steyer; 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Friends and family will be received in the Neville Funeral Home, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland (419-865-8879) from 3-8 pm Friday, November 8, 2013 with scripture services being held at 7 pm. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Saturday November 9, 2013 with prayers being recited at 9:15 am with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine Church, 6135 Hill Ave., Toledo, beginning at 10 am. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to the Autism Center of Northwest Ohio.
