Ruth Ann Steffen, 77, of Genoa passed away Thursday, August 3, 2017 at the Genoa Retirement Village. She was born on March 25, 1940 in Clay Center, OH to Harold and Marge (Goings) Novotny. On December 10, 1988 in Northwood, OH she married David Steffen, and he survives. Ruth Ann most recently worked as a cook for the Genoa Retirement Village for 5 years until retiring in 2006. She enjoyed her flowers, gardening, and years ago her Tuesday night ladies bowling league. Ruth Ann was known for her incredible cookies she made for holidays and family events. She loved especially her family including her German Shepherd dogs. In addition to her loving husband of 28 years, David, she is survived by her sons, Larry (Diane) Blausey and Gary (Dawn) Blausey, grandchildren, Chad (Courtney Fuller) Blausey, Nicole Blausey, Sara Blausey, and Jordan Blausey, step-grandson, Kyle (Allison Reinhart) Rublaitus, step-daughter, Linda Steffen, step-son, Aaron Steffen, and nieces, Susie Reuss, Julie Drummond, and Joan Nelson. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, John Novotny. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Sunday, August 6, 2017, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 7, 2017, in the funeral home with burial to follow in Clay Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials for Ruth Ann may be given to the Ottawa County Humane Society or the Allen-Clay Joint Fire District & E.M.S.
