Ruth M Sander

Ruth M. (Dorr) Sander, age 94, formerly of Walbridge, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Otterbein Portage Valley. Ruth was born on November 22, 1922 to Jesse and Josephine (Zimmerman) Dorr in Fremont, Ohio. She married Victor E. Sander on May 18, 1946 and he preceded her in death on May 26, 1981. Mrs. Sander was a homemaker and devoted wife to Victor and loving mother of three boys. For many years she enjoyed golf and always enjoyed cooking. Ruth collected lots of recipes from family, friends and cook books. Her special dishes always included cheese. She would always say you couldn’t use too much cheese. She also loved animals, especially her Poodle, Abby. Ruth was preceded in death by her loving husband, Victor; and brothers, Raymond, Herbert and Robert Dorr. Surviving are her three sons, Larry (Mary) Sander of Bowling Green, Ohio; Timothy (Diane) Sander of Blissfield, Michigan and Michael (Rose) Sander of Denver, Colorado. Ruth has seven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Friends will be received from 11:00 AM. to 1:30 PM. in the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 701 N. Main St. Walbridge, Ohio 43465 (419-666-3121) on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 with funeral services following at 1:30 PM. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Park, Perrysburg. Memorials may be made to Otterbein Portage Valley or the donor’s choice.
