Ruth Anna Nagy

May 12, 1942 — Aug 15, 2026

Ruth Anna Nagy, age 84, of Perrysburg, Ohio passed into the arms of Jesus on August 15, 2026. Ruth was born May 12, 1942 to Hugh and Emma Bowland in Toledo, Ohio. She was blessed to have loving parents who taught her to be a wonderful mother and grandmother herself. Ruth worked a variety of jobs in her life - Hertz driver, custom drapery consultant, and one of the first microwave cooking demonstrators - but in her 30's she pursued her dream to become a teacher. She taught English, Speech, and Theater with passion. After retiring, she continued to substitute teach and tutor. She was loved by her students and colleagues alike!

A lifelong believer in Jesus Christ, Ruth had been both a Sunday school teacher and worship leader in her past. She loved the flowers in the color of the resurrection: yellow and white (lilies of the valley were her favorite). Her love of singing was passed down to her children and grandchildren. In the last days of her life, her daughters sang to her the songs she taught them. She found joy in music and performance. She acted, directed, and even wrote plays! Theater was another passion for her, and she passed that on to her daughters and granddaughters. Ruth was known as a wonderful cook and baker! Her daughters and grandchildren have a lifetime of memories of baking Christmas cookies, birthday cakes, and so many family dinners. Spaghetti Wednesday is legendary to her grandchildren! She brought generosity to the table with each meal. Ruth was married to Frank Nagy (Fritz) for 65 years. They weathered many storms together and laughed, fought, and loved each other through it all. He says that all of those years were "just a blink". Together they had four daughters, nine grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren who were the joy of her life. Each new baby that joined the family was her favorite!

She is survived by her husband Frank, her daughters Suzan (James Pinkelman), Jennifer (Timothy Lake), and Rebecca (Robert Roggenbuck), her son-in-law Michael Hermiller, and her wonderful grandchildren: The Hermillers - Jordan (Elle), Zachary (Emily), Luke, and Abigail, The Pinkelmans - Benjamin, and Natalie (Jayson Wollman), The Lakes - Katherine, and the Books - Emma and Grace, and her nine great-grandchildren. She also has four wonderful siblings: Bill Bowland (Mary Jane), Helen Clark (Phil), Bob Bowland (Debbie), and Kathy Heldt (Jim). She is preceded in death by her parents Hugh and Emma Bowland, and her beloved oldest daughter, Anne Hermiller. She is rejoicing with them and we can rejoice for her.
