Ruth Ann (Gerding) Mason

Ruth Ann (Gerding) Mason, age 85 years, of Perrysburg, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2025. Born to Harold and Dorothy (Huebner) Gerding.

Surviving is her husband Leonard V. Mason Jr. and her children Laurie Gunn (Jeff), Leonard Mason III (Viola), Robert Mason (Kathleen). Also surviving are her grand-children Scott (Alena), Kevin (Danielle), Kyle (Lyndsey), Emily, Laura, Jacob, Rachel, Caroline and great grandchildren Kennedy, Mason and Wrenley; sister Karen Dorwart; brother Harold Gerding; brother in laws Dwight Dorwart, Kenneth Kamm, John Mason, Ken Mason; sister in laws Bev Gerding, Pat Mason, Connie Mason, Phyllis Mason. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; sister Darla Kamm; brother in laws Paul Mason, Sam Mason, Bob Mason, David Bennett; sister in laws Judi Mason, Judy (Reynolds) Mason, Judy Reidling, Ruthanne Bennett.

Ruth and Leonard (Popeye) met in high school, fell in love, and have been married for 66 beautiful years. Ruth attended Libby High School. Later, she saved her money from care-giving her grandmother in order to attend beauty school, where she excelled as a beautician. She styled countless beehives and bouffants at the Beauty Bar.

Ruth’s children and grandchildren, along with countless friends and family were able to spend many years relaxing and enjoying cottage life in Michigan. In addition, Ruth and Leonard liked taking short drives around the Port Clinton and Catawba Cliffs, Ohio area. Ruth was a great hostess, making every holiday full of wonderful memories. Ruth loved attending Cedar Creek Church, enjoying the music and many friends she made along the way. She was known for volunteering and participated in bible study.

Ruth’s biggest passion in life was her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her beloved fur babies.

Friends and family will be received Wednesday, July 2, 2025 from 4-7 p.m. at Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, Ohio, 43537 where funeral services will be held Thursday, July 3, 2025 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Memorial donations are suggested to Dirty Paws and Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
