Ruth E. Krieghoff

February 23, 1920 — April 8, 2008

Ruth E. Krieghoff, age 88, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at Parkcliffe, A Specialized Community. The daughter of Gust and Elsie Schwachenwald, she was born Feb. 23, 1920 in Curtice, OH. She was a graduate of DeVilbiss High School and attended Davis College for 2 years earning her degree in Bookkeeping. She was a Bookkeeper for Toledo Pattern and later for Canteen Vending Services. She married Floyd Krieghoff on Nov. 11, 1942. Ruth is a member of Grace Lutheran Church. She was a former member of St. James where she taught Sunday School and sang in the Choir for 50 years. She sang in the Toledo Choral Society at one time as well. She was also very active in the Jr. Guild of Robinwood Hospital now St. Lukes Hospital and continued her time with St. Lukes Auxiliary Team Two. Ruth enjoyed life but nothing brought her more joy than being with and loving her family. She is survived by her son, Floyd Rochelle Krieghoff; daughter, Brenda Chris Holderman; grandchildren, Katherine Simen and Geoffrey Krieghoff. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Roy Schwachenwald. Friends may visit the family on Friday from 2-8 PM at the Walker Funeral Home 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd. Services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Grace Lutheran Church or Parkcliffe.
