Ruth M. Keil age 93 formerly of Toledo passed away on Monday January 11, 2010 at Summit Park Assisted Living, Jackson, MI. Ruth was born in Toledo on November 28, 1916 to Fred and Edith Behrendt Koester. She married Merle M. Keil on July 6, 1946. Ruth was an Executive Secretary for UAW Local 12 in the pension and insurance department for 19 years retiring in 1986. She was a 30 year member of the Local 12 Womens Committee; 63 year member of the Conn-Weissenberger American Legion Auxiliary; and St. Petri Evangelical Lutheran Church in Toledo. In 2000 Ruth was recognized as one of the Outstanding Woman of Local 12 UAW. Ruth was a volunteer at Lucas County Board of Elections and she was an avid bowler for years at Lido Lanes, South Toledo. Surviving is her daughter, Mary Beth Bob Brothers of Jackson, MI; grandchildren, Sarah Novak, Alison Keil, Angela Wiley, Rob and Cherri Brothers; great grandchildren, Matthew and Nathan Wiley. She was preceded in death by her husband Merle M. Keil of 53 years in 2000, son, Donald Paul Keil in 1988; sister, Viola Graybill and her parents. Friends may call at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home 501 Conant St., Maumee on Friday January 15, 2009 from 2-9 PM. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at St. Petri Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3120 South Byrne Rd., Toledo, Ohio.
