Ruth E. Finke

Ruth E. Finke, 96, of Port Clinton, OH, passed away, Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at her residence. Ruth was born on April 28, 1918 in Port Clinton, OH, the daughter of Edwin and Lura (Schlagel) Schrader. On November 02, 1942 in Georgia, she married Theron R. Finke and he preceded her in death on August 06, 1980. Ruth was a dedicated homemaker. She worked as the house mother at the Providence School of Nursing, a cook at Bataan Elementary School and an LPN at Magruder Hospital. Ruth was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Port Clinton, OH and the women’s Pricilla Circle. She was a founding member of the Ottawa County Mothers of Twins Club. Ruth will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends. Survivors include: Sons: Ronald (Sandra) Finke, Donald (Jean Page) Finke and Todd (Lindi) Finke; Daughter: Cynthia (Ben) Simpson; 7 Grandchildren and 19 Great-Grandchildren. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Visitation will be 5-8PM, Sunday, July 27, 2014, in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 216 Washington St., Port Clinton, OH. Funeral service will be conducted by Rev. James Lehman at 11:00AM, Monday, July 28, 2014, in St, John Lutheran Church, Port Clinton, OH, with visitation at church from 10am to 11am. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton. Memorial donations in memory of Ruth may be given to St. John Lutheran Church.
