Ruth F. Ewing

Ruth F. Ewing, 91, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Swan Creek Retirement Village. She was born in Toledo on April 27, 1923 to Cleo E. and Anna J. (Oehlschlegel) Elliott. She graduated from Libbey High School in 1941 and went on to be a bookkeeper for B & F Medical Products in Toledo for many years until retiring in 1988. On April 27, 1945, Ruth married J Wesley Ewing, who has since preceded her in death. Ruth was a member of Church of St. Andrew United Methodist. Ruth is survived by her daughters, Ruth Ann (George F.) Coon, Patricia K. (Toby L.) Herman; grandchildren, Brenda Christie, Diane (Derek) Dodd, Gerald W. Herman, Lisa M.(Fiancé Nathan Geary) Herman; great grandchildren, Logan Dodd, Brandon Dodd, Ryan Dodd; and brother, Richard D. (Marilyn) Elliott. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Elbert O. Elliott, and sister, Lois Daugherty. Friends will be received at Swan Creek Retirement Village in the Reed Chapel, 1650 Swan Creek Lane, Toledo, Ohio on Saturday April 18, 2015 from 2:00 PM-3:00 PM with a memorial service to follow at 3:00 PM. A private burial will be held at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Witzler-Shank Funeral Home (419-874-3133).
