Ruth H. Elendt

Ruth H. Elendt, age 90, passed away on July 1, 2018 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo, Ohio. She was born to Milton and Grace Hazel Kane on February 24, 1928 in Toledo. She graduated from DeVilbiss High School in 1946 and later from the University of Toledo with B.A. in Education in 1950. Ruth was a member of the Alpha Omega Pi (AOP) International Womens Fraternity. She was a lover of books and an avid bridge player who loved to play with family and friends. Ruth had a daily ritual of watching Jeopardy and was always everybodys favorite Trivial Pursuit partner. She loved to travel both internationally and nationwide with her husband and family. Ruth never met a cookie she didnt like. Ruth is survived by her sons, Dave (Paula) Elendt, Jim (Leslie) Elendt, Mark Elendt; daughters, Gena (Kevin) Barber, son-in-law, Jerry Buescher, Anne (Kenneth) Beck; grandchildren, Nicole (Brian), Stephanie (Katie), Jeremy, Nathan (Allison), Collin, Austin, Justin, Johnny, Charlie, Audrey; 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years Eugene E. Elendt, daughter, Mary Buescher. Visitation will be held from 2-8 pm on Friday, July 6, 2018 at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, Ohio. Prayers will begin at 9:30 am on Saturday, July 7, 2018 with the funeral mass to follow at 10 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Maumee, Ohio. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
