Ruth E. Duket, age 82, of Maumee, Ohio died Wednesday, May 6 at Sunset Village in Syvania. She was born September 15, 1926 in Toledo to Clyde and Edna Henderson Collins. Ruth is survived by her loving husband, Robert L. Duket; children Michael wife Susan, Timothy wife Amy, Steven wife Beth, Cathy husband Doug and brother, Bud Collins; eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Thomas Duket. A graduate of Whitney High School, Ruth worked during World War II at the AP Parts Company. After the war she married Robert Duket and began a family that came to include five children. She was a skilled homemaker and loving mother involved in the Maumee community in many ways: Cub Scouting, Garden Club, pinochle club, bridge club, and MHS boosters. She was a trained classical pianist and an amateur painter. For fifteen years she was volunteer buyer and manager for the Gift Shop at the Medical College of Ohio UT. Her husband for more than sixty years Robert survives and was her close companion for wonderful years of camping, fishing, hunting, birding, shelling, traveling and just being together. One of their favorite places was Sanibel Island, Florida where they often held family reunions. A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family requests memorial contributions to the Toledo Museum of Art Development Department reference Ruth E. Duket.
