Russell R. Lee, Jr., age 90, of Toledo, passed away February 10, 2015 while a resident of the Lutheran Villages of Wolf Creek. Born April 13, 1924, in Toledo, OH, the only child of Russell and Gertrude Lee, Russell graduated from Scott High School in 1942 and attended the University of Toledo in the industrial engineering program. He married Lida Trost on August 17, 1948 and they were married for 53 years. She preceded him in death on July 15, 2001. He married Patricia Swart on June 10, 2003. Pat preceded him in death on March 23, 2013. He was a long-time member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Toledo Yacht Club, Bay View Yacht Club, and the Toledo Power Squadron. He was a Mason of the Grand Lodge of Ohio and a member of the Shriners. He, his father and grandfather all worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad in various capacities for many years. He served as an industrial engineer for numerous manufacturing companies in the local area, retiring from McCord Gasket. He and his son, Garret, formed a storage corporation, Garrus Inc. His love of photography included developing and printing his own photos in his home dark room and for many years, he and Lida had fun creating their own Christmas cards. He loved all things mechanical. His garage was filled with tools for tinkering with and repairing anything to do with an automobile. He also enjoyed the boat trips he and Lida enjoyed together on the Great Lakes, and his pride and joy was his steel-hulled Chris Craft Roamer. Russell is survived by his three sons, Russell (Diane) R. Lee, III of Sarasota, Garret A. (Deborah) Lee, and Randall S. Lee, both of Toledo; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Meredith) Lee, of Fairfax, Virginia, Gregory (Hillery) Lee, of Wellesley, Massachusetts, Michael (Elizabeth) Lee of Toledo and Nicholas Lee of Toledo, and Gregory and Bradley (Kristen) Thurman; great-grandchildren, James, Henry, Austin, Cameron Lee, Abigail, Allison and Colton Thurman, Ethan, Gage and Jaxson Lee. Friends may visit the family Monday, February 16, 2015 from 2-8 pm at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) where services will be held Tuesday, February 17 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
