Russell F. Floering

Russell F. Floering, 90, of Millbury, died early Tuesday morning, December 28, 2010, in the Genoa Retirement Village. Russell was born May 3, 1920, in Toledo, Ohio, to Herbert J. and Helena Retzloff Floering. On October 19, 1951, in Genoa, Ohio, he married Helen A. Slovak, and she preceded him in death October 15, 2006. Russell worked in electrical repair for Electric Tool Equipment and Toledo Pipe Threading Machine Co. retiring in 1985. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Russell enjoyed fixing anything that anyone needed and was the neighborhood repairman. He was past president of the Millbury American Czech and Slovak Dance Club. He is survived by his sister, Doris Sander of Greeley, CO, and many other loving family members and friends. His parents and wife, Helen, preceded him in death. The funeral service will be conducted 12:00 p.m. Friday, January 7, 2011, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home and Crematory, Genoa, with visitation from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow in Clay Township Cemetery. The family would like memorial contributions to be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church 204 S. Main St. Genoa, OH 43430.
