RUSSELL JAY BENSON, JR. Russell Benson, Jr., age 61, of Holland passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday May 19, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. Russell was born in Toledo on November 26, 1949 to Russell & Martha (Weaver) Benson, Sr. He married Roberta “Bobbie” Neff in Holland on July 5, 1975. Russell worked for Libbey Owens Ford for over 38 years and was a former member and Past Master of the Northern Light Masonic Lodge. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Surviving are his loving wife of 35 years, Bobbie; son Russell D. (Kimberly) Benson; daughter, Rachel Benson; grandchildren, Jessica & Trace Benson; brother, Gary Benson; sisters, Jean Barney; Debra Cole; Billie Jo Benson; brother-in-law, Ronald Vargas; and sister-in-law, Judy Hartman. The family wishes to extend a special “Thank You” to Jim Weaver for all his support shown Russell during his time of need. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell & Martha; and sister, Vicky Vargas. Friends and family will be received in the Neville Funeral Home, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland (419-865-8879) from 2-9 pm Monday where funeral services will be held at 11 am Tuesday May 24, 2001 with Pastor Dennis King officiating. Burial will follow at Springfield Township Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the American Cancer Society.
