Russell “Russ” James Babiuch, age 67 of Toledo died Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Flower Hospital. He was born in Toledo on December 10, 1950 to Leon and Jacqueline (Smally) Babiuch. Following graduation from Rogers High School, Russ enlisted in the United States Army serving his country during the Vietnam War. He later worked as a Steam Fitter for Local #50 for 35 years. He loved fishing and was later known for his handmade lawn ornaments, jewelry, belt buckles and wind chimes. Russ is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Sandra (Webster) Babiuch; daughters, Melissa (Thomas) Carros and Mary (Nigel) Naus; sons, Gregory Stentz and Ernest (Stephanie) Babiuch; grandchildren, Justin, Beth, Chance, Erica, Julian, Hannah and Leon; great grandchildren, Zayden and Onnalicia; mother, Jacqueline (Smally) Babiuch; brothers, Tom and Jimmy; sisters, LeAnne (John) Hopricht and Shirley Hall. Russ was preceded in death by his father, Leon as well as his brother Timmy. Friends will be received on Friday, August 10, 2018 from 1:00-8:00 PM at Neville-Shank Funeral Home, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland, Ohio 43528 (419-865-8879). Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made in Russell’s memory to the charity of the donor’s choice.
