Ruel “Buzz” C. Lieske, 84, of Oak Harbor, passed away Wednesday morning, November 30, 2016 at the Riverview Healthcare Campus, Oak Harbor, Ohio. He was born April 7, 1932 to Charles and Iva (Humphrey) Lieske in Oak Harbor. Ruel was a veteran who served in the U.S. Army. After his return from the Korean War he married the girl next door and high school sweetheart Lucille G. Pierson on June 12, 1954. Ruel and Lucille grew up on neighboring farms. They resided in Oak Harbor where they raised their four children. Ruel served his country, provided for his family, and was a salt of the earth man. He was a hard worker and gained employment at several different jobs: Grain Elevator in Graytown, Ohio; Ford Tractors, Rubber Company, and TV N Sawmill (11 yrs.) in Oak Harbor, Ohio; Port Clinton Marine Company, Standard Products, and Uniroyal USCO (26 yrs.) in Port Clinton, Ohio where he retired in 1994. Ruel was a long time member of St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor. His favorite pastimes were gardening, fishing, lottery/casino, bowling, going out to eat, and spending time with family and friends. Ruel is survived by his sisters: Erma (Walden) Peters of Port Clinton, Delite (Kenneth) Fahl of Palm Bay, FL, and Ilene (Jay) Porter of Columbus, IN, his son Randy Lieske of Oak Harbor, daughters: Dawn (Mark) Nehls of Beavercreek, OH, Linda Lieske and Lisa (Daniel) DelCostello both of Circleville, OH, and grandchildren Benjamin and Lindsay Nehls. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Julius Lieske and Charles Lieske, sisters: Alice (Lloyd) Skinner, Mirvel (Lloyd) Tack, and infant sister Lenora, and loving wife, Lucille Lieske. Visitation will be 3 to 7 pm, Friday, December 9th, 2016 in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, 165 E Water St, Oak Harbor, OH 43449. Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00 am, Saturday, December 10th, 2016 at St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church, 122 W Ottawa St, Oak Harbor OH 43449. Interment will follow in Locust Point Cemetery, Carroll Twp. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Ruel may be made to Stein Hospice Services, Inc., 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870 or St. Johns Evangelical Church. Ruels family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at the Riverview Healthcare Campus and the Stein Hospice Care Center for their professional and kind treatment.
