Ruby Sampson

Ruby Sampson, 79, formerly of Woodville, Ohio, passed away Monday, December 5, 2022, at Mercy-St. Charles Hospital, Oregon, Ohio. Born to Clarence W. and Ruth M. (Morris) Savage, she was one of a family of seven children. She married Ronald C. Sampson, in Rocky Ridge, Ohio on February 22, 1986, and he preceded her in death on July 11, 2013.

Ruby was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for her family, no matter the task. She was a hard worker and was known for her bartending skills. Ruby was employed at the former Holiday Inn in Stony Ridge and on Reynolds Road in Toledo, before finishing her working career at the Genoa Care Center.

Ruby is survived by her loving family, daughters, Pamela (Herbert) Gross and Terri (Eric) Kruse, son, Troy (Lisa Wicker) Turner, grandchildren, Noah, Styles, Nicholas, Keegan, and Karley, great grandchildren, Lyndee, Jasmyne, Audree, Kayleigh, Oaklynn, and Layla, siblings, Linda Young, Violet (Don) Shaw, Terry Woltz, and special grandchildren, Amber and Ryan Wicker. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ronald, son, Tony Alan Camp, granddaughter, Kayleigh Camp, sister, Rosemary Ervin and brothers, Clarence Donald Savage, and Loren Dean Savage.

Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM, Thursday, December 8, 2022, at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, Ohio. Ruby’s funeral will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Friday, December 9, 2022, at Solomon Lutheran Church, 305 W. Main St., Woodville, Ohio, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place in the Westwood Cemetery, Woodville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Solomon Lutheran School.
