Ruby Brown, 98, of Oak Harbor, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 5, 1928, in Madison, Georgia, to the late Arthur and Frances (Hunter) King.
Ruby married Emmit Brown, who preceded her in death.
Ruby was a loving mother, devoted grandmother, and faithful Jehovah's Witness. She served as a pioneer for 66 years and deeply loved participating in the field ministry. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she enjoyed studying the Watchtower and sharing in the ministry.
Above all, Ruby loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed riding in the car, no matter the destination-she was always ready to get up and go! One of her favorite outings was going out for a hot chocolate. Ruby had a wonderful personality and a special way of making those around her smile. As she would say, she was truly "all that and two bags of chips."
Ruby will be lovingly remembered by her children, Regina Kanary, Michael Brown, and Mark Brown; her brother, Arthur King Jr.; her grandchildren, Ruby, Michelle, Stepanee, Penny, Michael Jr., and Jaxon; and her great-grandchildren, Rashawnah, Shadonnah, Monica, Shannon, Moneisha, Danshawn, Brianna, Iyaunna, Jennifer, Benjamin, Lindsey, Alex, Isis, Samaya, Sylice, Kaiden, Marcus, Raylynn, Samajeh, and Angelina. She is also survived by many, many great-great-grandchildren, who will carry her memory and legacy in their hearts.
In addition to her husband, Emmit, Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Frances King; her brother, Edward King; her sister, Betty Payteon; and her great-granddaughter, Olivia Pena.
Ruby's loving spirit, strong faith, sense of humor, and devotion to her family will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
A memorial service to honor Ruby's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 7701 OH-163 Scenic, Oak Harbor, OH 43449. Following the service, the family would like for everyone to join them at the Eagle's Nest , 210 Jefferson St, Oak Harbor, OH 43449, for a Repast and sharing of memories.
